What to do after a car accident

  1. Get medical attention, even if you feel “okay”. Adrenaline masks pain, and some injuries show up days later.

  2. Call the police and get a report; take photos of the scene, the vehicles and any visible injuries.

  3. Report the crash to your auto insurer and open a PIP (no-fault) claim.

  4. See us promptly so your injuries are examined, diagnosed and documented under PIP.

  5. If you hire a personal-injury attorney, we coordinate your records directly with them.

PIP coverage & working with attorneys

Utah is a no-fault state, so every auto policy includes PIP (Personal Injury Protection), with a state minimum of $3,000 in medical benefits. PIP pays for reasonable accident-related care regardless of who caused the crash, usually with no upfront cost to you. We bill PIP directly when possible, document your treatment thoroughly, and coordinate with your personal-injury attorney so your recovery and your case stay on the same page. We review your specific coverage with you before treatment, and this page is general information, not legal advice.

Frequently asked questions

How soon should I be seen after a crash?

As soon as possible, ideally within a few days. Early care protects your health, and a prompt record strengthens any claim. We can usually see you the same week.

What if I feel fine?

Many crash injuries, especially whiplash and soft-tissue injuries, don’t hurt until days later. A quick evaluation now can prevent bigger problems and document anything that surfaces.

Do I have to pay out of pocket?

In most Utah auto-accident cases, care is covered under your PIP (no-fault) benefits, often with no upfront cost. We review your specific coverage with you before treatment.

Do you bill PIP directly?

Yes, when your coverage allows we bill your PIP carrier directly so you can focus on getting better.

Do I need an attorney?

No, you are not required to have one. If you do, we coordinate your records and documentation directly with your attorney.

What injuries do you treat?

Common auto and work injuries: whiplash, neck and back pain, soft-tissue injuries, headaches and concussion symptoms, and joint or nerve pain.

Do you treat work accidents too?

Yes. We evaluate and document on-the-job injuries; tell us how it happened and we’ll guide you on next steps.
